We may use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate patterns in how visitors use our website — for example, which pages are most popular, how long visitors stay, and what general region of Canada they are in. GA4 is configured on this website with IP anonymization enabled.

What "IP anonymization" means in practice: Your IP address is truncated by Google before any data is stored or processed, meaning Google never records your full IP address in connection with analytics data for this website. The data Google Analytics collects in this configuration is aggregate and statistical — it cannot be used to identify you personally.

Cookies set by GA4 in this configuration include:

• _ga — Distinguishes unique users. Expires after 2 years. Set by Google.

2.3 Third-Party Embed Cookies — Setmore Booking Widget

Our booking page includes an embedded Setmore iframe that allows you to schedule sessions directly on our website. 2.4 Third-Party Embed Cookies — Google Maps

Our contact page includes an embedded Google Maps iframe showing our studio location. When you interact with the Google Maps embed, Google may set cookies related to map functionality. These are third-party cookies set by Google and are governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

3. Why We Don't Show a Cookie Consent Banner

Canada's privacy laws — including Alberta's PIPA and the federal PIPEDA — do not prescribe a mandatory cookie consent banner in the same way as Europe's GDPR. Whether a consent banner is required depends on the types of cookies used and whether they process personal data in an identifiable way.

Here is why Red Mile Records Inc. does not display a cookie consent pop-up:

• No advertising cookies: We do not use advertising networks, remarketing pixels, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking technology designed to build profiles of individual users for advertising purposes.
• Anonymized analytics: Our GA4 implementation uses IP anonymization, which means no personally identifiable information is transmitted to or stored by Google in connection with analytics on this site. The data collected is purely aggregate and statistical.
• Strictly necessary cookies only (for site function): The functional cookies we set are strictly necessary to deliver the services you have requested (such as submitting the contact form).
• Alberta / PIPEDA context: Under PIPA and PIPEDA, implied consent is generally sufficient for analytics cookies that do not collect personally identifiable information. PIPEDA's reasonable person test is met by our current cookie configuration, which a reasonable person would not find objectionable given the privacy-protective measures in place.

If our cookie practices change in the future — for example, if we add advertising cookies or change to a non-anonymized analytics configuration — we will implement an appropriate consent mechanism and update this policy.
